The Curriculum of The Royal School of Infantry of the Royal Hutt River Army

The Royal School of Infantry of the Royal Hutt River Army is dedicated to teaching the drill, safety procedures, commands, equipment, and field management for ceremonial infantry.  As instructors of The Royal School of Infantry of the Royal Hutt River Army, we are dedicated to ensuring the accuracy and safety of ceremonial infantry.  The Royal School of Infantry of the Royal Hutt River Army teaches a Basic Course (instructions for infantry soldiers), an Advanced Course (instructions for the deployment of companies and battalions), as well as the Customs and Traditions for Ceremonial Infantry Officers course.

 The Basic Course of Instruction

The Basic Course of Instruction on the Drill and Safety of Ceremonial Infantry Soldiers contains what is referred to as The School of the Soldier, as well as other instructions.  This course is designed to teach the procedures for each soldier of an infantry company.  Students are taught: nomenclature and care of infantry equipment; drills for loading, firing and servicing muzzle-loading muskets; procedures rolling, preparing, and storing musket cartridges; and, safety procedures for operating and maintaining a safe infantry field.

The Advanced Course of Instruction

The Advanced Course of Instruction on the Deployment of Ceremonial Infantry contains what is referred to as The School of the Company and The School of the Battalion, as well as other instructions.  This course is designed to teach the deployment and manoeuvring of ceremonial infantry during demonstrations, re-enactments and tacticals.

The Military Leadership Course of Instruction

The Military Leadership Course of Instruction is focused on the customs, traditions, duties and responsibilities of infantry officers.  This is a course on military leadership based on modern and historic texts designed to ensure that current and future leaders understand the fundamentals of leading soldiers in the field, during ceremonial events, and on base.
